The Healing Arts Center would like to wish a happy birthday to any students or staff celebrating this week. Please let us know so we can wish you well.
Student Handbook Reminder (page 15):
Healing Arts Center Dress Code: In an effort to instill a sense of professional standards, students are expected to dress like professional massage therapists. Students shall refrain from wearing hats, cut-off shorts, or cut-off shirts. Bare midriffs, sports bras and the like are allowed only in the classrooms while receiving bodywork. When giving massage, or when in any other part of the facility, students will wear standard shirts or t-shirts. Low cut tops or revealing attire of any sort is unacceptable. Students are expected to maintain standards of hygiene in dress, ensuring the cleanliness of their attire. Shoes are to be worn at all times when not in the classroom.
The Healing Arts Center Massage Therapy Training Program is a 600 clock hour program. A clock hour is defined as a minimum of 50 minutes of instruction within a 60 minute period. Therefore, if you are more than 10 minutes late for a class or clinic, you will be marked absent for the entire hour. ALL ABSENCES, whether class or clinic, MUST be made up. Students will not receive a certificate of completion until all hours are attended in compliance with the Missouri State Board of Therapeutic Massage.
Please remember to turn in your signed agreement for the latest handbook. If you did not receive the electronic copy, please pick up a copy at the front desk.
Do you need to make up hours? There are still spaces available for the make up clinics schedule for August 23rd and August 30th. See the front desk to add your name to the list.
The Labor Day make up classes are as follows:
Business – Thursday 9/2/10 9am-1pm
Level I Day Class – Friday 9/10/10 1:30pm-5:30pm
Level I Evening Class – Friday 9/10/10 6pm-10pm
Myofascial – Friday 9/10/10 6pm-10pm
