Prenatal Massage 8 Continuing Education October 23, 2010 Register: Reduce both physical and emotional stress and promote a sense of peace and general well being during pregnancy. Feel confident in your ability to massage a client dealing with any number of the possible discomforts that may arise during pregnancy, including neck and back pain, muscle spasms, sciatica, SI joint dysfunction, inter-costal rib pain, carpal tunnel, headaches, edema, stress, and anxiety. This introductory class will cover what you need to know before performing a prenatal massage, including the benifits, contraindications, relative prenatal terminology, tailoring your intake, positioning, breathing and relaxing, stretching, and an overview of post-natal massage.
In this hands-on intensive workshop, you will learn an integrative somatic approach incorporating
the insights and selected techniques of Ida Rolf: neuromuscular and Myofascial therapy, movement,
osteopathic soft tissue techniques, and other Western methods, applied tai chi principles and
emotional sensitivity. Well-researched guidelines will empower you to safely and effectively
